  ::ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK:

Arusha National Park has an area of 137sq. kms. The park described as a "little gem", consists of three spectacular features - the Momella Lakes, Meru Crater, and the Ngurdoto Crater.

Altitudes range from 1,525 m. above sea level at Momella to nearly 4,575 m. at the summit of Mount Meru. On clear days magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru can be seen from almost any part of the park.

The park is famous for its profuse bird life both migrant and resident and the handsome black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys which inhabit the lush green forests of ancient cedar and podocarpus. Walking Safari is possible in the Park.

Among the many other animals commonly seen in the park are baboons, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, waterbucks and other antelopes.

Best time: Whole year but in April and May, a 4 wheel drive is necessary.

How to get there: From Arusha an easy 30 minute drive. Approximately 40 kms from Kilimanjaro International Airport. The park is on the outskirts of the Arusha town.
